Demonstration Neighborhood Matching Grants
As previously announced, LISC has a $500,000 challenge grant fund to seed projects in your quality-of-life plans. These grants are a one third match per project or a maximum of $50,000 per project (whichever is less) with a limit of two projects per neighborhood. LISC will not disburse the funds until the remaining two thirds are committed. However, we are willing to commit funds early (contingent on the match), so that you can use that commitment to leverage the matching investment. The match may only include cash or assets, not in-kind contributions of material or labor. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, but must be received before the end of 2009. Applicants will have to have demonstrated support from the neighborhood, including sign-off from partners and a vote of your local GINI advisory committee. We would prefer that the grantee be the convening organization, but would consider another entity if the neighborhood deems it appropriate. Because this is all LISC funding, LISC will make the final funding decision.

To request funds, please submit a short proposal (less than three pages) that describes the following elements:

    11. Fiscal year start/end dates
    12. Attach signed W-9 form
    13. Attach recent audited financials

  4. Strategic Importance to the Neighborhood (specifically talk about connection to QOL plan)
  5. Expected Results
  6. Partners Involved and a Description of their Roles (specifically talk about residents)

  8. Signatures of Partners
